How to choose the right flatbed trailer winche
Check the mounting style (sliding, bolt-on or weld-on) against your trailer’s rail or track, and match the drum to your strap width.
Specifications explained
- Surface finish: Zinc Plated — the coating that protects the metal. Galvanized and zinc finishes resist rust; powder coat adds a tough painted layer.
- Material: Steel — Steel offers high strength and abrasion resistance; check the finish for rust protection.
Before you buy
- Confirm the size or option matches your equipment.
- Check the rated capacity against your heaviest load.
- Compare the full option table above before clicking through.
Safety and care
- Use a proper winch bar, not a pipe, to tension.
- Inspect welds and mounting hardware regularly.
- Keep a few wraps of strap on the drum.
To complete your setup, many buyers also look at winch straps, winch bars and sliding winch track — see the suggestions below.
