How buying works
Global Cargo Control lists products and prices to help you compare. Typical uses
- Flatbed, step deck and van load securement
- Owner-operators building a DOT-compliant kit
- Replacing worn or out-of-service tie-downs
Buying a kit or multi-pack means the pieces are matched to each other and usually costs less than buying each part separately. Check the contents against what you already own so you do not pay for duplicates.
How to choose the right bungee strap
Pick the width and rating first: add up the WLL of every strap so the total is at least half the cargo weight, then choose an end fitting that matches your anchor points. Use edge protectors where webbing crosses sharp corners.
Specifications explained
- End fitting: Open S Hook — the hardware at the end of the strap or chain. Match it to your anchor points — flat hooks for flatbed rub rails, wire or snap hooks for D-rings, grab hooks for chain, E-track fittings for E-track.
Before you buy
- Add up the working load limits of all tie-downs against the cargo weight.
- Check that the end fitting matches the anchor points on your trailer.
- Make sure the length reaches over the load with tail left to tension.
Safety and care
- Inspect webbing before each use and retire straps with cuts, burns, melted fibres or damaged hardware.
- Keep the ratchet handle closed and locked after tensioning, and re-check tension at your first stop.
- Never exceed the working load limit printed on the tag.
To complete your setup, many buyers also look at corner & edge protectors, e-track accessories and ratchet tie down straps — see the suggestions below.
